O God, I bow before Thy Heavenly throne
Thou knowest every feeble, fleeting thought
My words and all my ways, to Thee are known
I fail to seek and serve Thee, as I ought
My feet to wander, often times are prone
My heart and mind, with fear and folly, fraught
Yet, whither from Thy spirit, shall I go
Or from Thy holy presence, shall I flee?
The highest heavens above and hell below
The caverns of the deepest, darkest sea
Before, behind, Thy hand is there, although
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me!
How precious are Thy thoughts, O God, to me!
Far greater than the grains of shifting sand
When I awake, my soul is still with Thee
Protected by thy gracious, loving hand
Search me O God, my heart, my thoughts, to see
And lead me in the way, that Thou hast planned
